Dr. Aaron Studer

Dr. Studer grew up in Rapid City and Sioux Falls, SD, graduating from Rapid City Stevens in 1989. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1993 from the University of South Dakota, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Dr. Studer earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy in 2001.   He began his dental private practice in Rapid City, South Dakota in June of 2001 with Dr. Patrick Coyne. In 2007, 18 years ago, he moved the dental practice to its current location and renamed it to Advanced Dental Professionals.

Advanced Dental Professionals -In addition to providing the highest quality of dental care for his patients, he helps educate and care for the Rapid City and South Dakota communities.  He has participated in February Children’s Dental Health month by visiting 3rd graders to discuss dental health care for multiple years. Dr. Studer has lectured for the Partners of Prevention Program for the Coalition of Oral Health for South Dakota. The program’s goal is to instruct doctors in residency about early childhood caries and the importance of getting children into a dental home by age 1. He also participated in a series of talks with Youth and Family services giving oral instructions to the primary caregivers of the families they support.  When he learned that South Dakota was one of the only states not participating in the Special Smiles Program he started the South Dakota Special Smiles Program with South Dakota Special Olympics in 2012 and has remained the state coordinator for 13 years.  As part of this program he attends the Spring South Dakota State Special Olympics track meet where he provides each athlete with a dental exam, connects them with a dental provider in their community and instructs the athletes on how to properly take care of their dental health. More recently he was asked to participate in a panel with Children Home Society to give his perspective on how they can better support the oral health and dental needs of the children in their care.

As a member of Academy of Sports Dentistry, Dr. Studer is the Official Dentist for the Rapid City Rush Hockey team. He is also member of dental organizations, such as American Dental Association, South Dakota Dental Association and Black Hills Dental Society. He served as President for the Black Hills Dental Society in 2004-2005. In 2008, he received the Young Dentist of the Year Award from the South Dakota Dental Association.

Dr. Studer enjoys being active in the Rapid City community. In 2014-2015 he was the President of Arrowhead Country Club. He was a coach for Canyon Lake Little League and Minors League baseball for 10 years while coaching both of his sons.  Over the years he has supported area youth by sponsoring or donating to youth sports teams including Blaze basketball team, Rapid City Racers, Just Jymnastics, Rapid City Gymnastics Academy, Black Hills Junior Volleyball, Lady Lightening Basketball, Blaze softball, Rushmore and Canyon Lake Little League baseball, Canyon Lake All-Stars, Rapid City Sliders, Post 22 baseball, Post 320 baseball, Stevens Baseball, Central Baseball, Stevens High School girls’ and boys’ basketball, and Stevens Football.  He also supports YoungLife, Southwest Middle School PTA, Stevens High School Booster Club, Rapid City Young People’s Chorus, SD Youth Hunting Adventures, and the Rapid City Public School Foundation.

He has been married to his wife, Niki, for 30+ years and they have two adult sons, Tyrus and Haiden. During his leisure time, he and his family enjoy snow skiing, spending time boating, wake surfing, and camping at the lake. Now that their boys are grown he and Niki enjoy traveling to see their sons and going to concerts and sporting events.  He is a movie fan and especially loves superhero and science fiction movies.

Dr. Shaun Lemmon

Dr. Lemmon was raised in Pocatello, Idaho and received his undergraduate degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology with a minor in Spanish from Brigham Young University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Lemmon is a member of the South Dakota Dental Association, the American Dental Association and is excited to be part of the dental family at Advanced Dental Professionals.

Dr. Lemmon and his wife have one son and a baby girl on the way. He looks forward to raising his young family in Rapid City and already feels at home within this great community. He is an avid movie fan and technology nerd. He enjoys skiing, boating, or simply spending time with his family.
